Why AY was denied entry at my wedding – Basketmouth

Basketmouth, a comedian, has revealed that his colleague AY Makun was denied entry to his wedding because he was not on the guest list.

AY made some allegations against Basketmouth last month, including the fact that the 44-year-old left his name off the guest list at his wedding to Elsie in 2010, despite inviting his wife Mabel.

Basketmouth stated on the latest episode of Nedu’s Honest Bunch podcast that he invited his friends to his wedding but left out AY because they were not friends.

“For the wedding, I did not invite him, I did not even know they invited his wife. Na my friends I invite come my wedding. Na the whole industry I go invite? There was a guest list. So you coming there e come be like say you wan gatecrash the wedding, dem go bounce you,” he said, partly in Pidgin English.

Basketmouth, born Bright Okpocha, said he and AY never had a mentor-mentee relationship but that they only had a one-time meeting when Ali Baba told Basketmouth to include AY in Laffs and Jamz show. The show used to be organised by Basketmouth.

“To be honest, I feel very bad for him (AY). I pity him. A time would come in your life when you get to decide who would be in your circle. And I have done that long ago,” he added.
