David Adeleke, aka Davido, an award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats star, has announced that he will return home for a candlelight rally in memory of Mohbad.

ER reports that the 27-year-old singer died last Tuesday and was laid to rest on Wednesday.

The circumstances surrounding his death have sparked debate on social media.

The Lagos state police command recently launched an investigation into Mohbad’s death and suggested exhuming his body.

To honour Mohbad, music fans have also organised a candlelight procession.

In response to one of the fliers on his Instagram story, Davido wrote, “on the way” to Nigeria.

The ‘Timeless’ hitmaker, who is on a tour in the United Kingdom, accompanied the post with an aircraft emoji and a Nigerian flag.

According to the flier, the procession is set for Thursday, September 21, starting from Lekki Phase One to Muri Okunola Park.

Shortly after Mohbad’s death, Davido paid tribute to the late singer during his concert in Manchester.

He also offered his condolences to the singer’s family.

Iyabo Ojo, the actress, has also organised a peaceful rally on Wednesday to demand justice over the death of Mohbad.
