BBNaija’s Rico Swavey on life support after accident

The management of Patrick Fakoya, also known as Rico Swavey, a Big Brother Naija reality star, has confirmed that the actor was involved in a horrifying accident and is currently receiving life-saving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

EntertainmentReporterNG reported on Tuesday that fellow ex-housemate Alex Unusual had tweeted about the accident and requested prayers.

Rico’s management confirmed the incident in a tweet on Wednesday and said the 29-year-old is in critical condition.

“Hello everyone, Rico Swavey is not disposed to handle his socials right now as he was involved in a ghastly accident and is currently on life support. While his situation is critical and doctors are on him, We implore your support and prayers,” the tweet read.

The management also shared a video of the accident scene involving a white car and an 18-seater bus. The car was heavily damaged.

Nigerian entertainers have launched a fundraiser for the reality star.

His fellow BBNaija ex-housemate, Tobi Bakre, made the announcement on his Twitter page on Wednesday, as he asked the public for donations.

Sharing a picture of the hospitalised Rico Swavey on his Twitter page, Bakre also confirmed that the accident victim has been placed on life support.

He wrote: “Please help save Rico. He had a really bad car accident. We have to keep him on life support and continue to pay the rising medical bills while we pray for God’s miracle. (We) can’t do it alone. Please click on the link to donate at ricoswavey.com.”
