Grammy Awards: Beyoncé has never won Album of the Year – Jay-Z faults organisers

Jay-Z, an American rap legend, has criticised Grammy organisers for his wife Beyoncé’s ‘Album of the Year’ losses.

The Roc Nation boss received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award during the 2024 Grammys, which were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

In his acceptance speech, Jay-Z criticised the Recording Academy’s judgement, pointing out that, despite being the most awarded person in Grammy history with 32 awards, Beyoncé has never won Album of the Year.

He said, “I don’t wanna embarrass this young lady [Beyoncé] but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won Album of the Year. So, even by your own [Grammy organisers] metrics that doesn’t work. Think about that: the most Grammys never won Album of the Year, that doesn’t work. (sic)

“Some of you are going to go home tonight and feel like you have been robbed.”

ER reports that Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ won the Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammys.

Victoria Monét was named the Best New Artist of the Year ahead of Ice Spice, Fred Again, Coco Jones, Jelly Roll and others.

Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For?’ won the golden gramophone for the Song of the Year, while Miley Cyrus’s ‘Flowers’ won the Record of the Year
