Mohbad: A lot of people are walking dead – Spyro

In the wake of the controversies surrounding the passing of rising Nigerian singer Mohbad, fellow singer Spyro has lent a voice to the heated circumstances.

According to the Who is Your Guy singer, a lot of people, not just artistes go through inhumane circumstances in the country; he tagged them as ‘walking dead.’

Spyro aptly notes that bosses oppress workers, religious leaders assault their followers, and government officials take advantage of the masses. These issues are symptomatic of a deeper societal malaise, where power imbalances create fertile ground for exploitation and abuse.

While Spyro’s words focus on the music industry, it’s vital to acknowledge that injustice and exploitation extend far beyond this realm.

He wrote:

Justice for MOHBAD goes beyond what it might appear to be … it is justice for everyone as there are tons of artistes going through Same ,their voice has been taken from them ,they are constantly being abused and maltreated …record label owners hiding under “I am helping you” to perpetuate evil,If they don’t sleep with the female acts,they can’t help them ???? what do we call that ??? .I can tell you for free that 70% of artistes out there are depressed,I spoke to one not long ago who almost ended it too but we can’t talk as we are expected to act cool and stay packaged and this ain’t just restricted to the music industry ,it’s happening everywhere .Bosses Oppressing workers because they are above them ,Religious leaders oppressing and assaulting their followers ,government officials taking advantage of the masses and inflicting pain .
A lot of people are walking dead ,disasters walking and they are just waiting for explosion (the end) …so JUSTICE FOR MOHBAD should be a movement to represent the voiceless and to stop all these and that is why I implore everyone to join in on this as it could be you or me tomorrow ,let us use all within our arsenal to fight …
He didn’t deserve the injustice melted out to him ,he didn’t want to die ,he wasn’t ready but he was taken and he could do nothing about it ???? #JUSTICEforMOHBAD
