Some disgruntled Muslim youths recently took to the streets of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to express their displeasure with popular singer Davido, who posted an offensive video clip to his Twitter page.

Recall how Davido was bashed for sharing a music video clip for his signee, Logos Olori’s new single ‘Jaye Lo,’ which showed people praying and dancing in front of a mosque.

Many prominent Nigerian Muslims, including ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s former aide, Bashir Ahmad, Senator Shehu Sani, and actor Ali Nuhi, urged Davido to remove the video and apologise to Muslims for “disrespecting” their religion.

After 48 hours, the singer succumbed to public pressure and deleted the contentious video.

However, Davido did not apologise for his action.

Angered by his arrogance, some Muslim youths in Maiduguri took to the street setting a large banner of the singer on fire.

In a video making the rounds on social media, the youths were captured publicly setting Davido’s picture ablaze.
