Singer Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been buried.

The late 27-year-old was buried on Wednesday in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

Videos of his corpse placed in a white coffin and carried by a crowd of people have been shared multiple times on social media.

Many people were in attendance at the burial, notably show promoter Kogbagidi and skit maker Cute Abiola.

The burial comes hours after the singer was pronounced dead on Tuesday.

The bereaved family spoke in a statement posted on his Instagram account on Tuesday night.

“It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023,” they said.

“The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Imole is finally at peace,” their statement further said.

Mohbad’s family was silent on the cause of his death. Dancer Lil Smart has, however, debunked the rumour that Mohbad died from ear infection.

Numerous people, including artistes, have taken to social media to mourn him and pay their respects.

The ‘Feel Good’ singer had a son with his girlfriend Omowunmi.

Mohbad is best known for his hit singles ‘Ponmo’, ‘Feel Good’, and ‘KPK (Ko Por Ke)’ with Rexxie.

He was nominated for Best Street Hip-Hop Artiste at the recently held 16th Headies Awards for his song ‘Peace’.
