On Wednesday, Joseph Aloba, the father of late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, commonly known as Mohbad, told a coroner’s court that his son’s wife Wunmi cheated on him while he was still alive.

Joseph testified before the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State during a coroner’s inquest into his son’s death.

Mohbad’s father stated that he does not trust the singer’s wife because the deceased confessed to him that she put sleeping drugs in his food.

“Wunmi was a very unfaithful wife to my son. My son told me that she used to put sleeping pills in noodles for him and she would go and sleep with a signee in another room in the same house they were living.

I don’t trust Wunmi one bit. He told me that all the documents of his landed property were in the possession of Wunmi’s mother till today.” he told the court.

Joseph testified that the deceased’s landed property was in the custody of his mother-in-law, adding that the deceased often told him about his possessions held by his wife and her family.

He also said his son had been living with his former boss Naira Marley since December 2019.

The man told the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that he and his son lived together for 18 years.

He testified that his son left his house at the age of consent and began to assist Naira Marley while embarking on his own career in music.

According to him, his son assured him that he would be able to handle his dispute with Marley.
