Socialite Farida Sobowale’s estranged husband opens up on separation

Farida Sobowale’s estranged husband Demola Odulaja has disclosed the cause of their split.

Sobowale, the founder of the skincare company House of Phreeda, was saved from jumping off Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge on Friday.

There were rumours that the socialite’s marriage had problems.

In a chat with Arewa Tope Famous, Odulaja confirmed the rumours and claimed that their two-month-old marriage had broken down as a result of alleged infidelity.

The businessman said he has known Farida for many years, adding that their marriage, however, crashed owing to her alleged “promiscuous lifestyle”.

Odulaja also claimed Sobowale engaged in affairs with him and many other men before they got married.

“I am extremely wealthy. I live in a 22-bedroom mansion in Gbagada,” he said while refuting the claim of being a gold digger.

“I am not a gigolo. I come from a wealthy home and have been flying first class long before now, people know me well in London.”

On how they met, Odulaja said: “When I got back to Nigeria from abroad in 2009, Farida came to Lagos in 2010 that same year. I took her to the China embassy with me so she could start traveling to buy and sell things from China.

“In that same year, I told her to stop following one of my friends. She went behind my back and continued to sleep with him even after I warned her…

“My brother is my neighbor and Farida used to go and stay in my brother’s house, also one Alhaji in my area also told me he is sleeping with Farida.”

Sobowale and Demola tied the knot in June.

The elaborate wedding, reportedly worth N100 million, witnessed the presence of celebrities and socialites.
