The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has issued a strong appeal for the public to stop circulating false and unverified reports about the circumstances of her passing.

In a statement released through her official channels, the Awonuga/Osoba family expressed deep sadness over the wave of speculative claims spreading across social media and blogs. They made it clear that such reports are unauthorised and only deepen their pain.

“At this difficult time, we wish to categorically state that the numerous claims circulating on social media and various blogs regarding the circumstances surrounding her death are false, speculative, and entirely unauthorised,” the family said.

They urged everyone to refrain from sharing or promoting misinformation.

“We respectfully urge the public to refrain from sharing or promoting misinformation that only adds to the pain our family is already enduring.”

The family also asked for space to mourn privately.

“We kindly ask that everyone allow us the dignity, privacy, and time to grieve without the burden of unfounded rumours and sensational narratives.”

Any official updates, they stressed, will come only through authorised channels.

“Should there be any information the family wishes to make public, it will be communicated through our official channels and by authorized representatives only. We ask the public and members of the media to rely solely on those official statements and to disregard all unverified reports.”

Temitope Osoba, a familiar face in Yoruba Nollywood films, died at the age of 40. News of her passing was first shared by colleague Alesh Sanni, who described her as a dear sister and recalled the good memories they shared. Tributes have continued to pour in from industry colleagues and fans.
