Media personality Daddy Freeze has ignited fresh controversy by pointing fingers at Nollywood actors and Nigerian celebrities over the fake dollar notes sprayed at content creator Peller’s traditional wedding.

Reacting to Peller’s claim that many of the dollar bills he received during his lavish ceremony with Jarvis were counterfeit, Daddy Freeze questioned the source of the fake currency.

“Peller said people sprayed him fake dollars. Who would do that? It’s Nollywood actors and Nigerian celebrities that’ll give Peller fake dollars,” he said.

He drew a clear distinction between those celebrities and true high-net-worth individuals.

“The real billionaires like Cubana Chief Priest will not give you fake dollars,” Daddy Freeze added.

The broadcaster used the moment to explain why he keeps a limited circle.

“That’s why I don’t roll with them; I cut them off because most of them are fake, and I only dine with people on Davido’s level.”

He made one notable exception.

“Maybe except AY who I grew with and it’s not because he’s a celebrity. It’s because he’s my brother.”

Daddy Freeze’s comments come after Peller publicly shared his disappointment upon discovering that a large portion of the dollars sprayed at his wedding failed bank checks, even though the naira notes were genuine. The TikTok star had returned home feeling like a millionaire before realising the truth.

The media personality’s unfiltered remarks have divided opinions online. Some support his stance on authenticity and the pressure to appear wealthy at events, while others feel he was too harsh on Nollywood stars.
