Nigerian street-hop star Zlatan Ibile has given fans a heartfelt look at the moment that changed his life forever. In a recent interview clip that forms part of the couple’s wedding documentary, the Zanku pioneer opened up about meeting his fiancée Davita Lamai during his very first trip to London in 2019. What started as a practical connection quickly grew into the relationship that now has the pair preparing for their public wedding celebration on October 24, 2026.
Zlatan explained that he arrived in the United Kingdom without fully understanding how the banking system worked. He linked up with someone who wanted to discuss music, and that person arrived with Davita.
“On my first trip to London, I really didn’t know how the banking system over there was. I linked up with another person that wanted to talk about music but came with Davita. She was being helpful to me,” he shared.
He asked if they could meet again after the discussion, and she said she needed to check with the person she came with. From that point, Davita stepped in and became an unexpected guide. She drove him around for hours in her small car to the places he needed to be, reminding him of earlier days when God used someone to help him find a place to stay during university.
“It reminded me of my university days when God used someone to get me a place to squat in. She’d drive me around for hours to places I needed to be.”
The pair eventually returned to Lagos together, and the connection deepened.
“From there, we came back to Lagos.”
Davita has offered her own side of the story in the same documentary’s teaser. She revealed that the confident stage performer was actually quite shy when they first met.

Zlatan has described Davita as the final piece that completed the story he believed God was writing for his life.
The couple, who already share two sons named Shiloh and Benaiah, held a private civil ceremony earlier and are now inviting fans to celebrate their public wedding later this month.
