Nigerian real estate billionaire King Ochacho has set social media buzzing after claiming he rejected a collaboration request from American rap legend Jay-Z on behalf of his teenage son, Ice King.

In a video that circulated on X and Instagram on October 14, 2026, Ochacho was direct about it.

“Jay-Z called me. He wanted to have a collab with my son. And I turned him down. I turned Jay-Z down,” he said.

He also brought Davido into the conversation, crediting the Afrobeats heavyweight with predicting his son’s rise to fame years before it happened.

“The Senior Baddest told me two years ago that Ice King is going to be the future of Afrobeat. Davido is an apostle of God Almighty. He sees tomorrow. He told you about tomorrow. And tomorrow has come to pass,” Ochacho said.

The video dropped on the same day Ice King, whose full name is Shedrack Mohammed Adah, released his debut album titled The Future. Born on August 6, 2013, the 13-year-old is already being positioned as a major force in African music, with his father pledging $1 million toward promoting the album.

Ochacho also described his son plainly:

“Ice King Ochacho is a continental young superstar. He is a superstar. I call Ice King the youngest baddest.”

Davido’s support for the teenager is not new. The singer publicly co-signed Ice King as far back as 2021. King Ochacho has also previously spoken about a London meeting where Davido first identified the boy’s potential.

Reactions online ranged from disbelief to amusement, with many Nigerians questioning the Jay-Z claim while others celebrated the album’s arrival.
