The explosive feud between Roby Ekpo and his estranged wife Mayowa Lambe has taken a fresh turn, with Ekpo rejecting her ₦100 million demand and declaring he is ready for a legal showdown. In a strongly worded response issued through his lawyers, Ekpo dismissed the cease-and-desist notice served by Lambe’s camp, describing the claims against him as baseless and exaggerated.
According to the legal letter, Ekpo’s legal team acknowledged receiving the initial notice but firmly pushed back on its contents. They stated that their client “categorically denies the allegations as presented” and “takes strong exception to the characterisation of his statements as false, malicious, or defamatory.”
On the controversial ₦100 million damages demand, the response was even more direct.
“Your demands… are viewed as excessive, unfounded, and premature.”
Ekpo’s defense centers on the claim that his statements were based on personal experience, not an attempt to damage reputations.
“Any statements made by him… were based on his personal experiences… and matters he reasonably believes to be true… at no time did he act with malice.”
They also argued that the situation stems from a “complex interpersonal relationship” that cannot be reduced to a one-sided narrative.
In a significant escalation, Ekpo’s legal team revealed that he possesses “documentary and testimonial evidence” that contradicts several of Lambe’s claims.
They noted that such materials, including communications and records of interactions, would be presented “at the appropriate time and forum.”
More strikingly, the letter hinted at a potential counterattack.
“Should your client proceed with legal action, our client will robustly defend the suit and reserve the right to file appropriate counterclaims.”
The dispute took an even more serious turn with a reference to international implications. Ekpo’s lawyers stated that Lambe’s notice could be used as evidence in a petition to United States authorities, specifically mentioning the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The inclusion of this detail suggests the fallout may extend beyond Nigeria into legal or immigration-related considerations.
The legal drama stems from Ekpo’s viral appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he made a series of personal allegations about their marriage.

In response, Lambe’s camp denied that any marriage was still in effect at the time, insisting their union had already been dissolved with family consent and that there is verifiable evidence contradicting his claims.
With both parties now armed with legal representation and public statements, the dispute has evolved into a full-scale legal and reputational war. While Lambe is demanding retraction and damages, Ekpo is refusing to back down, insisting he will defend himself and potentially countersue.
