Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has openly declared his admiration for Asake, revealing that the ex YBNL-signee will perform at his wedding.
During an Apple Music Radio Takeover interview, Wizkid showered Asake with heartfelt praise while discussing the singer’s rise and unique creative style. He noted that Asake’s sound had impressed him from the very beginning.
Wizkid revealed that it was Asake’s breakout hit “Omo Ope” that first made him a fan, but it was “Remember” from the 2023 album Work of Art that completely won his heart.
Calling “Remember” his best song on the album, Bigwiz said:
“You have one of the most unique voices, not just in Africa but in the entire world. I’ve told you this countless times, and I’ll say it again on the radio. You are truly a blessing to African music.”
Asake, visibly touched by the recognition from one of Africa’s biggest stars, responded quietly:
“Alhamdulilahi.”

“You will perform Omo Ope on my wedding day.”
