The organisers of the Headies Award have announced that the 15th edition will hold at the Cobb Energy Centre, Atlanta, United States of America.

Headies CEO Ayo Animashaun stated this at a press parley in Lagos on Tuesday.

Animashaun said this year’s edition will hold on July 12 with new award categories introduced.

He noted that the event will be televised by notable television and major streaming platforms including CNN and BBC1

Speaking on their partnership with Headies, Mr Steve from the United State consulate noted that the embassy is pleased to support the initiative as Nigeria is unarguably the entertainment hub in Nigeria while noting that the award ceremony will also create job opportunities for Americans.

“We are very proud to see Nigeria and its relationship with the United States. This is the year for Nigeria with arts and cultures, music, film and even sports. Three Grammy winners in Nigeria. I’m sure it’s going to attract American talents as well”, said Steve.

He continues: “all these collaborations are happening. Netflix is here, Amazon is here, the NBA is in Nigeria so we are very proud to see all of these. Our deputy assistant Secretary who just visited Nigeria said this industry is going to create job end she referred to it as the new oil for Nigeria because all of you in this room knows there is no shortage of creativity in Nigeria”.

The organisers also announced that the winner of the next rated award category will go home with a brand new 2022 Bentley.

Animasaun noted that over time since the first car was won in 2008, artistes no longer give that satisfactory expression thereby giving it to their managers or team members after winning the car so he decided to take it to the next level.
