Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has said that his son went into hiding because he was afraid of being attacked by his former bosss Naira Marley and his associates.

Mr Aloba testified during a coroner’s inquest into the death of his son at the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State on Wednesday.

He revealed that Mohbad stopped going to shows for six months because of fear of the constant beating, harassment and bullying he got from Naira Marley and his ally, Sammy Larry.

The man and his wife also claimed Mohbad told them that he was being attacked because he said he did not want Naira Marley’s brother, Tunde Fashola, to be his manager anymore.

“Mohbad was scared of going out for six months. He said he did not know if the substance he drank at the NDLEA will appear at the airport,” Mohbad’s dad said.

He also testified that his son left his house at the age of consent and began to assist Naira Marley while embarking on his own career in music.

According to him, his son assured him that he would be able to handle his dispute with Marley.

Speaking further, Mohbad’s father said he does not trust the late singer’s wife as he claimed the deceased told him she put sleeping pills in his food.

“Wunmi was a very unfaithful wife to my son. My son told me that she used to put sleeping pills in noodles for him and she would go and sleep with a signee in another room in the same house they were living.

“I don’t trust Wunmi one bit. He told me that all the documents of his landed property were in the possession of Wunmi’s mother till today.” he told the court.
