Former Managing Director of Daily Times, Yemi Ogunbiyi, and CEO of Entod Marketing, Iquo Ukoh, Attend Launch of “Colour Blind” Book by 75-Year-Old Author Jolomi Atimomo

Lagos, Nigeria – [Date] – Notable figures from the Nigerian literary and business community converged at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Victoria Island, Lagos, to celebrate the launch of “Colour Blind,” a captivating new book by esteemed author Jolomi Atimomo. Among the distinguished guests were Yemi Ogunbiyi, former Managing Director of Daily Times, and Iquo Ukoh, CEO of Entod Marketing.

Inspired by the unique challenges and experiences of individuals during the COVID-19 lockdown, Atimomo embarked on the journey of penning “Colour Blind” as a testament to the resilience and adaptability of the human spirit. Speaking at the launch event, Atimomo shared, “This is not my story, although it could be the story of many people because the experiences happened to other people, such as my friends and family members. During the COVID-19 lockdown, we could not even relate with our neighbours. In the early days of the lockdown, I took a brisk walk in the morning and returned home to do nothing. I felt so indolent, and decided to explore with some of the ideas in my head.”

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Atimomo found solace and motivation in her granddaughter, Isabella, whose unwavering support served as a driving force behind the completion of “Colour Blind.” Reflecting on her granddaughter’s influence, Atimomo remarked, “I must confess that one of the reasons I could complete the work was because of my granddaughter, Isabella. She would call me and ask, ‘Grandma, how is your book coming along’? She was one of the reasons this particular work was completed. When a child believes in you, you won’t want to let that child down.”

Adding a touch of levity to the event, popular comedian Gbenga Adeyinka delighted attendees with a comedy session, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the book launch.

“Colour Blind” promises to captivate readers with its poignant narratives and thought-provoking insights, offering a compelling exploration of the human experience amidst unprecedented challenges. With its official launch, the book stands poised to make a meaningful impact on readers across Nigeria and beyond.
