Nollywood actress and filmmaker Rashidat Anjorin, popularly known as Indomie, has opened up about her painful struggle with extreme loneliness, revealing it once pushed her into deep depression, made her ask a man out, and even led her to contemplate suicide.

In a candid interview on the Talk to B podcast, the actress shared the emotional low point she reached due to prolonged isolation and the desperate measures she took in search of companionship. She said:

“Being alone is a disease except for those who don’t know. I was so depressed that for three days I was missing and nowhere to be found. I wanted to end it all.”

She admitted that the intense loneliness drove her to do something she had never done before.

“I made a move towards a man, something I had never done before. My shop is down there. I do hair and pedicures. I didn’t know what to say. I think the guy suspected that I wanted to have sex with him.”

The actress, who is over 40, emphasised the importance of having a genuine support system, stressing that companionship goes beyond financial benefits.

“When someone dies, it takes six people to carry the coffin. If those six people are in your life to support your progress, then you understand why companionship matters. Everything is not about money.”

Anjorin also reflected on earlier struggles in her career, including being detained by police as a victim of theft and how colleagues like Funke Akindele helped her during tough times by supporting her Indomie business venture.

Her raw confession has resonated with many, sparking conversations about mental health, loneliness, and the hidden battles many entertainers face despite their public personas.
