Veteran actor Peter Fatomilola celebrates 55 years on stage
Peter Fatomilola, a seasoned actor, recently celebrated 55 years in the industry.
The occasion took place over the weekend at Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife’s Oduduwa Hall.
On Sunday, he posted pictures and videos from the event to his official Facebook page.
Celebrities and friends of the actor attended the celebration that he dubbed “celebrate me while I’m still alive,” including actress Toyin Adegbola, who on Monday shared a video of herself dancing with the celebrant on Instagram.
Toyin, also known as Toyin Tomato, shared images from the 55th anniversary celebration held on stage.
Captioning the post, she wrote: “I was there during the celebration of The Wizard of Ife @peterfatomilola 55th years on stage at the Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. On the 22nd of October 2022. Thank you for the award sir.”
Peter Fatomilola was also gifted an art portrait by a young artist named Morenikeji Joshua.
The 76-year-old was born in Ifisin-Ekiti in the Ido-Osi Local Government area of Ekiti State. In 1967, he joined the Olokun Theatre group under the tutelage of the late Professor Ola Rotimi, a renowned playwright at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. He is also a member of the academic staff of Obafemi Awolowo University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 1978.
Known for his priestly roles, Peter has been featured in movies and TV shows like Sango, Sawaroide, Rise of the Saints, King Invincible, Super Story and Papa Ajasco.
