Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has fired back hard at investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo after the latter issued a public message directed at the actress’s Instagram fans. The exchange has quickly heated up social media on November 5, 2026, turning what started as a call for calm into an open clash.

Kemi Olunloyo posted a statement reacting to Senator Ned Nwoko’s recent appeal for the public to give Regina breathing space. In her message, the journalist told the actress’s followers to keep their distance.

“Dear Regina’s IG fans, please take your toxicity and negative energy far away from me. All Gina needs now is positive energy, emotional support, and love. Try to keep my name out of your mouths,” she wrote.

Regina Daniels did not hold back in her response. She noted that she had stayed quiet for some time because she considers herself retired from public controversies, yet felt compelled to speak up.

“Sorry, I have to laugh this laugh, please, publicly. Aunty werey, just because I am now a retired troublesome person, I kept you quiet to be buzzing. Don’t you know someone staying in one place recovering from what would have killed the likes of you will be itching to faint somebody?” the actress wrote.

She continued:

“How can you tell my gang to stay away from you? I shock, I swear! So you know the meaning of that all this while? Or was it because of your daily 2k? If that’s it, no wahala, ride on, jare! I get it. Plus, because of your grey hair, you merit my response. Don’t feel accomplished and put the praises on your experience, because if it’s by that, you won’t beat your chest, speaking nonsense in Queen’s English that’s not making any sense.”

Kemi Olunloyo hit back immediately, questioning the source of the reply and rejecting the insult.

“Why would @regina.daniels call me Aunty Werey? Is it her family posting on her handles? Dancing photos in a hotel room, wading in a pool, etc. I will not tolerate this disrespect from someone possibly impersonating her,” she stated.

The latest spat comes days after Ned Nwoko, Regina’s estranged husband, publicly asked fans, friends, bloggers and commentators to give the actress room to recover. He warned that anyone spreading death rumours or false claims about her would be held accountable, stressing that she has been through more than many realise and needs support rather than judgment.
