Ruggedman is taking his career off the mic and onto a weekly screen with Steve Pays The Bills, a comedy-drama he produced and stars in, landing on his Officialruggedman YouTube channel on October 10, 2026.
The premiere follows Rock Steady, the birthday single he released with 2Baba. This time he is not just the voice on the track. He is Steve, the man paying the bills, holding a home together and living with the noise that comes with it.

Steve’s house is already full before the story gets going. His live-in lover, Tolani, is played by Motunde Sogunle, better known as Mr Macaroni’s skit daughter. His younger brother, Abobinto, played by Samuel T Philip, turns up for a visit and then refuses to leave. Director Mankind is behind the camera.
The guest list is stacked with familiar faces. Charles Inojie, Uzor Arokwe, Francis Odega, MC Lively, Queen Akosa and Wole Ojo all make cameos. Ruggedman is no stranger to a set either. He has already appeared in Jim Iyke’s Bad Comments, Toyin Abraham’s The Ghost and the Tout Too, Red Circle, and the upcoming Five Figurines.
He says the itch to make it is as old as he can remember.
“I grew up watching family sitcoms and acting and producing is something I have always wanted to do. I am glad I am getting the opportunity to do both. I am proud of my cast and I am sure the viewers will be too.”
Sogunle says decided to take on the Tolani character because she is nothing like her.
“I decided to play Tolani in Steve Pays The Bills because she’s honestly a totally different person from me. I’ve seen these crazy, troublesome girlfriends with quiet, easygoing partners who still love them regardless, and I really wanted to explore that side of myself.”
She credited the man who wrote her in.
“I’m grateful I was able to pull it off, and I’m especially thankful to RuggedMan for thinking of me from the moment he wrote the script. I don’t know what he saw — that’s on him! But he definitely cast the right person.”
After the online drop, a denim-themed private screening of the opening episodes is set for October 14, 2026, at Silverbird Cinema, Victoria Island, Lagos, with industry names and Ruggedman’s celebrity friends expected to be in the room. The night continues at The RPM Lounge, also on Victoria Island.
Steve Pays The Bills arrives alongside 20 by Ruggedman, his luxury unisex perfume, another step in a catalogue that now runs from music to screen to scent.
