Toyin Abraham has publicly rejected a Lagos APC campaign slot after the party put her name on its 2027 entertainment list. The Nollywood actress and producer said she is not on any council and asked fans to ignore the appointment.
Posting on her Instagram story on Thursday, September 17, 2026, hours after the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre released the full campaign structure, she wrote:
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee.”
The list placed her as Ms. Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi, a member of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate. That unit is headed by Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director, with veteran actor Jide Kosoko as Co-Director and Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director. Also named were Bimbo Akintola, Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola, plus Fuji names including Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Malaika, Osupa and Small Doctor.

Abraham’s name sat on that paper. Her reply was that the paper was wrong. She repeated a line she said she had already given the public: she is staying out of politics. The rejection lands as Lagos APC builds a celebrity wing for 2027, and as other industry figures appear willing to sit in the room she just left.
The actress has not been a political ghost. In 2023 she spoke openly about supporting Bola Tinubu and insisted she did not collect campaign money, telling critics that cinema receipts, not party cash, paid her bills.
