Psquare star Peter Okoye has delivered one of the most emotional chapters yet in his ongoing family tell-all series, recounting alleged mistreatment of his wife Lola Omotayo by his late mother and brothers during her pregnancy and after the birth of their son.
In a video shared as part of the series, Peter claimed his brothers Jude and Paul insisted Lola abort the pregnancy. He alleged they went as far as forging an email to frame her, claiming the child was not his and that she was using the pregnancy to trap him.
“There is nothing Jude and Paul didn’t do for Lola to take that pregnancy out. To a point, they forged an email to frame Lola up,” Peter said.
He described a family meeting after the birth where his late mother Josephine Okoye summoned Lola. According to him, no one offered her a seat, so the couple sat on the floor. His mother then declared that the Okoye family had decided Lola should leave their son alone. Peter further claimed Jude called their son a bastard in Igbo, causing Lola to break down in tears before she was pushed out of the house.
“Lola and I sat on the floor. The next thing my mum said was, ‘Young woman, we, the Okoye family, have decided that you should leave our son alone…’ Jude called our son a bastard. Lola started crying, and they pushed her out,” he recounted.
Peter also alleged that when he publicly dedicated an award to the mother of his unborn child at the Soundcity Awards, Jude and Paul walked out, saying the announcement would ruin their career. On the day Lola was due to give birth, he claimed Jude booked a show that prevented him from being present. The ordeal, he said, led to a separation lasting more than five months during which he did not see Lola or their son. Then Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke later intervened for peace talks.
While narrating the events, Peter broke down in tears.
His twin brother Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, responded by addressing their late mother directly.
“Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum,” he wrote.
The revelations form part of a wider public airing of long-standing family and business disputes among the Okoye brothers that has dominated entertainment conversations in recent days. Fans and observers have reacted with a mix of shock, sympathy and calls for the family to resolve their differences privately.
