Popular Ghanaian actress and media personality Beverly Afaglo has passed away at the age of 42 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Her husband, musician Eugene Kwadwo Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster of the Hiplife group Praye, confirmed the sad news of her passing on social media. The actress died on Saturday night at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema, just four days before her 43rd birthday.

In an emotional tribute, Choirmaster described his late wife as the pillar of his life.

“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife Beverly Afaglo. It would have been just like four more days to your birthday, but I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you. You were my strength, my happiness, and the reason my life felt complete.”

Her manager, Abu Iddris, disclosed in an interview with Ghana Weekend that Beverly had been battling cancer for two years.

“She’s been battling cancer for two years. It’s been a relentless war. She really fought hard, and this is where it ended.”

Born on May 28, 1983, Beverly Afaglo was a household name in Ghollywood. She featured in several hit films including Return of Beyonce (2006), Crime to Christ (2007), Girls Connection (2008), The Game (2010), Single Six (2011), and Secret Burden (2012). She was also known for her work as a television host and entrepreneur.

News of her passing has sent shockwaves through the Ghanaian entertainment industry, with colleagues and fans mourning the loss of a talented and vibrant personality. The family is expected to release an official statement regarding burial arrangements soon.
