Social media activist VeryDarkMan has addressed mounting accusations of manipulation after a counter affidavit opposing bail for detained businessman Blord surfaced online. In a new video shared online, the outspoken critic clarified his position in the ongoing impersonation case and explained why he will no longer step aside for Blord’s release.
Yesterday, VeryDarkMan had publicly stated he would not oppose Blord’s bail application if filed, allowing the process to move forward.
“Yesterday, I said if Blord’s people file for a bail application, I wasn’t going to oppose so that he can be released.”
Today, however, VeryDarkMan revealed he was unaware of a counter affidavit already filed by his legal team. The activist expressed surprise at the document’s sudden appearance online, noting it was a confidential filing dated before his earlier statement.
“Surprisingly I came online to see a document that showed a counter affidavit against a bail which I didn’t know about. The date on the document however shows that it was signed and filed before I made my previous video. This is a confidential document and I’m surprised to see it online even though I know nothing of it.”
He pushed back firmly against claims that his initial video was an attempt at damage control.
“Now they’re saying I’m a manipulator. That I posted the previous video knowing Blord will be released regardless to do damage control. There’s no damage to control. He’s been there for 11 days.”
The activist noted he could have withdrawn from the case to allow Blord’s conditional freedom but has now changed course in response to the backlash.
“I could’ve withdrawn my case to allow him go but since you all are so sure of him being released today, I will no longer be withdrawing from the case. Let the police do their job righteously.”
Blord, whose real name is Linus Williams Ifejirika, has been in Kuje Prison since his arraignment on April 1, 2026, facing charges related to impersonation. The latest development has intensified online debate, with some accusing VeryDarkMan of playing both sides while others support his call for due process.
VeryDarkMan’s latest video has already generated widespread reactions, with supporters praising his transparency and critics questioning the timing of the leaked document. As the case continues in court, the activist maintains he is simply allowing the legal system to run its course without interference.
