Controversial street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, appears to have kicked off the new year amid fresh controversy, as a trending video of the singer has sparked widespread reactions online.
The clip, which began circulating on social media, allegedly shows Portable being held down by a group of people as he tried to free himself. Online reports claim the incident was connected to his babymama, Ashabi, though details surrounding the alleged arrest remain unclear.
Since the video surfaced, many Nigerians have taken to social media to express concern, frustration, and mockery, noting that the singer has barely had a quiet moment since the year began.
One Chubuike wrote, “This guy no dey stay a complete week without entering wahala.”
Another user, New Solar Company, stated, “Portable is a disgrace to the Nigerian music industry.” Oreoluwa added, “So he and DJ Chicken dey share most disgrace award.”
Calling for professional help, Mandella wrote, “Honestly speaking, Portable really need a rehab.” Reacting to the viral clip, Yankee Tiji asked, “Wetin dey carry this guy energy all this kind setting.”

The latest drama comes just days after he dragged Ashabi to court, questioning why she would take legal action against him when they were not legally married. The singer described her as a “shameless woman” and accused her of wanting to wreck his marriage after getting pregnant for a married man.
Entertainment Reporter recalls that on New Year’s Day, Portable and Ashabi were involved in a heated online exchange. The singer claimed Ashabi came to his house and attacked his family, alleging that his pregnant wife was beaten, guns were pointed at his children, and that Ashabi’s mother accused him of using charm on her daughter.
Ashabi, however, told a different story. The actress alleged that Portable pushed and slapped her, brought out an axe, seized their phones, and assaulted her siblings, forcing her to seek safety in his office.
The singer has also had public issues with his wife, Bewaji. In an Instagram live session, Portable accused her of neglect, claiming her lack of care pushed him into having multiple baby mamas. He even recounted how she once refused to share her cream with him, fearing other women would “snatch” him.
Despite the ongoing drama, Portable later made a public plea to Bewaji, declaring she is his only legal wife and insisting that whatever “jazz” Ashabi allegedly used on him was no longer working.
In another emotional post, Portable stated that Bewaji is the only one praying for him, begging her to value him and stand by him.
