Street-hop sensation Portable has revealed his plans to return to school in order to better manage his music business and understand how royalties and record deals work.
The controversial artist, who already holds an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, made the disclosure in a recent interview, explaining that education will help him run his label, Zeh Nation, more effectively.
In his words:
“I wan go back to school so I go dey monitor my music. If I go school well well now, I go dey reason well well. I wan get certificate so I go dey monitor Zeh Nation. Zeh Nation get certificate.”
Portable said his decision to return to school stems from his desire to handle his music earnings wisely and position Zeh Nation as a structured record label.
He also revealed that he currently sponsors the education of others, including his children, and does not want to be seen as uneducated in the future.
“I dey pay for people and my children to go school. I no want make people later dey insult me say I no go school. If dem confront me academically, I go reply dem too”, he said in Yoruba
The singer’s statement has drawn reactions from fans across social media, many commending his decision to pursue more knowledge, while others took a playful jab at him.
