Nigerian actress Temiloluwa Otedola, now officially Mrs. Temi Ajibade, has opened up about her marriage to singer Mr Eazi and the personal reasons behind her decision to say yes to him.
In an interview with the BBC, the billionaire’s daughter turned actress couldn’t hide her joy when asked what made her accept Mr Eazi’s proposal and what she cherished most about him.
“There’s too many. How will I choose one? Wow, wow”, she began with a smile.
“I mean, first and foremost, he’s my best friend. You know, that’s my person. And I think when you meet your person, you know. I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anybody else.”
For Temi, marriage isn’t just about love, it’s about partnership.
She described Mr Eazi as the person she looks forward to building life with, through challenges and celebrations alike.
“He’s the person that I’m excited and can’t wait to spend every day with and, you know, build our lives together and work through our ups and downs together and celebrate together and solve problems together. He’s simply my person. So we’re just excited for what’s to come.”
The Citation actress also addressed her much-discussed name change after updating her social media profiles to “Temi Ajibade.”
She explained that it wasn’t a calculated move but a personal decision that felt natural.
“To be deeply honest with you, it’s not anything I had thought about before. It was obviously when I’m now a married woman, the obvious thing for me is to take my husband’s name”, she said.
“But it’s my personal choice. I respect everybody’s personal choice. It’s what I’m comfortable and happy doing.”
Her comments have sparked conversations online about identity, marriage, and the choices modern women make after tying the knot. For Temi, however, the matter is simple; love and personal happiness come first.
