Ruth Eze laments lack of genuine friendship in Nollywood
Ruth Eze, an actress, believes that there is no genuine friendship in Nollywood.
She stated in an interview with Saturday Beats: “In my experience, Nollywood is full of wicked and unbelievably evil people that wake up every day to wish their fellow humans bad. Someone that one has never offended would go somewhere to plan evil against one. This is just because they are jealous that one is doing well.”
Eze maintained that no one could have a genuine friend in the industry. She said, “Nobody can have a genuine friend in Nollywood. They only want to celebrate one when one is dead.”
Speaking about some of the things she does that makes her friends and family members remind her that she is a celebrity. She said, “I always want to stop on the road to get roasted corn or roasted plantain and eat it where they are selling it. (laughs).”
Although Peter Obi of the Labour Party was not declared the winner of the presidential elections, the actress said he was her preferred candidate and she had wanted him to win. She said, “Peter Obi is my candidate, and with how pure his heart is, I think he has plans not only for the entertainment industry but for Nigeria as a whole.”
