A planned celebrity boxing match has turned into a public feud after former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna accused content creator Ashmusy of trying to push her out of a multi-million-naira deal she says she first introduced her to.
Phyna said organisers contacted her in February 2026 about fighting a Ghanaian opponent. That fight later fell through. She remained in talks with the company for seven months and, on August 19, recommended Ashmusy. After discussing money, Ashmusy agreed and asked to be connected. Phyna arranged a three-way call.
Phyna later alleged that Ashmusy stopped taking her calls and began telling organisers to drop her and replace her with someone else.
“Do you know that since day before yesterday, Ashmusy is telling the organisers to drop me, and she has a better person to replace me. Me who has been talking to these people for seven months. I was the one who brought you in last week,” Phyna said in her Instagram video.
She added:
“You ate taking food from my mouth, Ashmusy; you are a bad person. Ashmusy you’re evil.”
After the video circulated, Phyna posted again to insist the outburst was not a publicity stunt.
“It hurts me so much that whenever I’m genuinely hurt and try to express myself on this internet, people call it ‘content’ or a ‘publicity stunt.’ I was betrayed so badly my heart dropped. I almost lost my bread, and you still called it content. Omo, Phyna is human. I have feelings. I break down too. Not everything is content. Sometimes I’m just genuinely hurting. Phyna is a human being. Phyna’s life matters. My pain matters.”
Ashmusy responded with her own statement, saying she never asked anyone to drop Phyna.
“Phyna I never asked anyone to drop you, neither did I advocate for your downfall in any way. You approached me and I sincerely wasn’t sure, I have been contemplating since then till date hence my delayed conclusion. However, I did mention to them that ‘if at all I do it, I’d rather fight with someone else’ not out of spite, I had my reasons which included that I was cool with you and wasn’t comfortable fighting you.”
She said organisers gave her permission to look for another match while she was still unsure and busy with a trip. Ashmusy added that she has now pulled out completely.
“As of now, I am completely uninterested in the match and I have opted out completely. I wish you the very best in everything and do not intend to fight or banter regarding this or anything else.”
The public clash has left the planned celebrity boxing match hanging. Phyna maintains she was stabbed in the back after opening a door that could have put food on both their tables. Ashmusy insists she never asked for Phyna to be dropped, only that she was uncomfortable fighting someone she considered a friend, and that she has now walked away from the entire deal.
Fans are already picking sides, but the organisers have yet to confirm whether the fight will still happen, who will be in the ring, or if the multi-million-naira project survives the fallout.
