Popular Nigerian dancer and socialite Iweh Odinaka, widely known as Poco Lee, has been formally charged in the United Kingdom with five sexual offences, a London court has confirmed.
Snaresbrook Crown Court Admin Team Leader James Baker stated that the defendant faces “Attempted rape, 2x Rape, 2x Assault by penetration.”
A reporting restriction is in place to protect the anonymity of the complainant under the Sexual Offences Amendment Act 1992.
The case is listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15, 2026. Poco Lee remains on remand in a UK prison and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The dancer was in London in mid-August for the Davido and Friends event at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14. Reports of his detention surfaced days later.
His management and legal team issued a statement signed by Adedoyin Faleye urging restraint while the matter proceeds through the courts.
“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the team said.
They also pushed back against circulating claims of drink-spiking.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking,’ amongst other allegations which do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court.”
Friends including Rahman Jago and TG Omori have publicly expressed support, describing the situation as heartbreaking and calling on the public not to exploit the case for clout.
The charges remain allegations. Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence. Further details will be determined by the court at the September 15 hearing.
