A prosecution witness has told a Lagos special offences court that he paid social media influencer Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, known as Blessing CEO, the sum of N69,150,000 for a five-year lease of a property she allegedly misrepresented as hers.

Onuoha Okeigwe, testifying as the first prosecution witness on October 12, 2026, before Justice R. A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, told the court that the defendant was not the actual owner of the property located at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, despite collecting the money from him.

He further stated that a man identified as Tom later arrived at the property with police officers and arrested some of his workers. When he informed Blessing CEO, she allegedly denied knowing the man and maintained she owned the building. He said he paid N100,000 to secure the release of his workers.

“I informed the defendant, and she claimed she did not know Mr. Tom. I paid N100,000 to secure the release of my workers. Blessing still maintained that she did not know Mr. Tom and that she was the owner of the property,” he said.

The witness also told the court that the defendant sent him photographs of the building via WhatsApp as proof of ownership, and that she collected additional agency, legal, and caution fees from him. He further alleged that the defendant collected money from another victim for the same property.

Blessing CEO was arraigned by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing. She pleaded not guilty. Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter to October 26, 2026, for continuation of trial.
