BBNaija star Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has rejected claims that he dated women, took their money and moved on, insisting he gave his former partner Bella Okagbue the best life during their relationship.
He spoke during a conversation with media personality Oyemykke. Asked whether he lives in Lagos or the United Kingdom, Sheggz said he keeps a house in both places.
“Both, bro. I have my house in London and I have my house in Banana Island in Lagos,” he replied.
He added that he grew up in London but spent about five years in Nigeria when he was younger.
Oyemykke then asked if he learnt to be a “gigolo” in Nigeria or picked up the alleged lifestyle in London. Sheggz dismissed the suggestion.
“Bro, is it possible I’m working now, I make money and I work hard. I’ve been balling since. It didn’t start today, like for the longest,” he said.
When the conversation turned to claims that he dated women, swindled them and left, he pointed to Bella.
- “Bro, that was my best friend. I gave her the best life. Bro, I worked so hard. I’ve been balling since. Not just today,” he said.
Pressed on whether she was lying, he refused to call her a liar.
“I’m not saying she’s lying. She brought stuff to the table. 70-30. She’s a woman. She works as well. She’s a star too.”
On money exchanged during the relationship, which he put at four years, Sheggz said both sides collected from each other.
“We both collected from each other but I’m the man. I did more,” he said.
Asked why Bella has said online that he took her money, he answered:
“I don’t know why she doesn’t want to address it.”
He went further on what he claims he provided.
“Bro, she lived with me. I provided everything for her, like I gave her cars. I did everything for her. I loved her to bits. Do you get what I’m saying? That was the love of my life. That was my girl,” he said.
He tied the public fight to the fact that they never married.
“If we got married, this wouldn’t be a conversation because we didn’t get married, now everybody’s saying crazy stuff. It’s crazy.”
The pair met as housemates on Big Brother Naija in 2022 and became one of the season’s most followed couples. Sheggz has previously said the relationship ended in January 2026 over issues of trust and respect, and that he once bought an engagement ring. In recent months both sides have exchanged legal notices over allegations of defamation, unpaid money and a broken promise of marriage.
