Temi Nkem has been declared the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 11, taking the Show Ya Sef crown and a grand prize valued at N160 million on Sunday, October 4.
Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu closed the live finale after a night of successive evictions that left three housemates standing. Temi Nkem, also known as Temitope Chigbue, emerged ahead of Aikou and Sheba. Reports on the prize put the package at N160 million in total, with a cash component of N100 million and a brand-new SUV among the rewards. The season launched on July 26 with 24 housemates and ran about 70 days.
The result landed as a triumph for a housemate who had already been written off once. In late September, Ebuka announced that Temi Nkem, Tram and Ricky had been evicted. She walked out smiling and threw a “Chakam” at the moment, only for Big Brother to reveal the exit as a fake. She returned to the house and stayed in the race. Days earlier, after learning Aikou had been a gambit, she had sounded less sure of her chances.
“It hurts me now because I don’t think I will win again,” she said, then appealed to the house voice with “Biggie, please take it back!”
She still insisted the people backing her outside were stronger than she was.
Aikou, Amyr Yousufzai, finished as first runner-up. Sheba, Faith Gamde, placed third. Bluethopia, Keren Bantai, was the last housemate sent out before the final three and ended as third runner-up. Teni and Oshamo performed on the finale stage.
The top 10, counted from the winner down through finale night and the last locked finalist, ran like this:
Temi Nkem took first after surviving the fake eviction and a season of shifting alliances. Aikou came second, the quiet strategist many viewers had tipped as the professor of the house. Sheba took third after staying relevant through the late weeks. Bluethopia finished fourth, evicted once the field had already been cut to four. Tram, Joshua Alekewumu, went fifth. He had been Most Influential Housemate in the closing stretch and was at the centre of the clash that later removed Keivo. Flora Egbedi placed sixth. Ricky, Patrick Jumbo, and Oyin, Oyindamola Oshikoya, left in the same stretch of the show and finished seventh and eighth. Barry, Muudumbari Pop-Yornwin, was the first finalist evicted on the night and placed ninth. He had won Head of House twice and used Ultimate Veto Power to send the remaining housemates into the finale. Keivo, Victor Ikpe, rounds out the ten. He had locked a finale place, then was disqualified in late September after a physical confrontation with Tram.
