BBNaija Pepper Dem winner Mercy Eke has finally addressed her surprising friendship with former rival Tacha Akide, declaring they moved on long ago while fans fought bitterly on their behalf.

In a heartfelt chat on Toke Makinwa’s podcast, Mercy opened up about choosing to experience people for herself instead of listening to outside opinions.

“I like to experience people myself even if you tell me someone is a bad person,” she said.

She added warmly:

“Tacha and I have gone past the Big Brother saga. In fact while fans were going tooth and nail, we would see each other and hug outside.”

Their reconciliation journey began years after the explosive 2019 Pepper Dem season that saw Tacha disqualified following a heated clash with Mercy, who eventually won the show. Many believed Tacha would have claimed victory without the disqualification, fueling years of tension.

Yet the two queens proved doubters wrong. Mercy attended Tacha’s 25th birthday bash where they shared sweet moments, and they later served friendship goals at Beauty Tukura’s party. Tacha once credited Toke Makinwa for helping resolve their differences, noting they have been close for four years.

Mercy has publicly celebrated Tacha’s achievements, including her Guinness World Record for the most makeovers, while Tacha showered Mercy with love on her own birthday. Their bond now stands as one of the most inspiring reconciliations in reality TV history.

This revelation comes as Mercy also addressed misconceptions about her personal life, including her four-year relationship without a proposal, but her focus on genuine connections shines brightest in her renewed sisterhood with Tacha.
