Nollywood actress Mojisola Adebanjo has opened up about the painful compromises women often make in relationships, revealing she nearly abandoned her rising career at its peak for an ex-fiancé who didn’t value her dreams.
In a deeply personal segment on the Conversations With Kenni podcast hosted by Kehinde Ajose, Mojisola addressed how Nigerian men treat women and the heavy price many ladies pay for love.
“Some Nigerian men treat women right. The ones that know how to care for and treat women, do treat their women right. Some men just don’t care. I think most men put themselves first. Women have to compromise a lot when it comes to marriage and relationships,” she stated candidly.
Drawing from real-life observations, she connected her views to widespread experiences:
“This situation has been around since time immemorial. It’s what I’ve seen my mother go through. It’s what I’ve seen women I’m familiar with go through. Even the ones that aren’t yet married.”
When asked about the craziest thing she ever did for love, Mojisola shared a vulnerable triumph of self-reflection mixed with regret:
“At the peak of my career, I almost stopped working because of my ex-fiancé then.”
Her confession highlights the emotional battles many successful women face and has resonated strongly with fans tired of one-sided sacrifices in relationships.
Her story is inspiring women to prioritize self-worth over unhealthy compromises while sparking fresh debates about gender dynamics in modern Nigerian relationships.
