Afrobeats superstar Omah Lay has left fans stunned after opening up about his unconventional beliefs on God, the universe, and his own divine nature. In a raw new Instagram video that quickly went viral, the singer declared he sees himself as one with the creator while rejecting organised religion.
Omah Lay, whose real name is Stanley Omah Didia, spoke calmly to the camera as he unpacked his personal philosophy.
“I believe in the creator. I believe in the universe. I believe mostly in myself because I believe I am God.”
He quickly clarified the nuance:
“Maybe I am not God but I and him are one.”
The singer painted the world as a living masterpiece.
“I believe the whole world is a piece of art and the creator is somewhere having fun, editing it, taking some out, putting some back, keeping the balance, improving his art every day, and I’m just one piece in the puzzle.”
He added that every human carries a divine spark.
“I believe there’s a piece of him in every human being.”
Clarifying why he believes he’s one with the divine, he stated that,
“ I believe that God —whatever he did with me—put a piece of himself in me because I can create, bring things to life, imagine things that don’t exist, and make them happen.”
Omah Lay went on to compare religion to software updates. He suggested the creator placed the world on “autopilot” and introduces new versions over time, just like smartphones.
“I believe he did that when he brought religion, the holy books, Quran and the Bible. At every time of life, he brings in updates.”
Despite this cosmic view, he made clear his irreligious nature:
“I’m not a religious guy at all but I believe there’s a higher power. Your God can be whatever you want it to be.”
