Ikechukwu Onunaku, a Nigerian rapper, has spoken out about his time with the now-defunct label MoHits Records, which was founded by Don Jazzy and D’banj.

According to Ikechukwu, even though show organisers booked him for N1 million or more, to perform at events, D’anj used to pay him N50,000 for each show.

In a conversation with Daddy Freeze, Ikechukwu asserted that D’Banj’s mother was the primary decision-maker at Mo Hits, which is why this was the practice.

The hip-hop artist claimed that the “koko master” used to handle him as though he were a favouring him. He also mentioned that D’banj later asked his mother’s approval to raise the payment to N150,000.

The artiste turned actor further debunked claims of being involved in a physical altercation with the ‘Why Me’ hit-maker years ago.

Ikechukwu said; “When we used to go on the road, dem go pay Banga money, Banga go do like say e dey do me favour, him go give me N50k, back then I used to book like N1.5m, N1m, N2m. He increased it one time after we don fight, he increase am say ‘e talk to mummy, we go increase am to N150k’.

“Mummy is D’banj’s mum, she was part of the record label spiritually. Ask Don Jazzy, dem no dey make decisions without momsi giving the okay for a very long time.”
