Bob Manuel-Udokwu, Chinedu Ikedieze, and Emeka Rollas paid a visit to their colleague Ameachi Munogaor, who is battling kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.

Amaechi’s health condition was made public on November 3 after a video of him begging for money went viral.

The actor revealed that he had been suffering from a stroke for the past seven months and needed financial assistance.

“I am sick, this thing that is called stroke caught up with me, from there they rushed me to hospital. The first hospital they rushed me to was in Nnewi, where I spent some two months and I was referred to teaching hospital Nnewi and here I am.

“In that set, I was with Emeka Ani, Patience Ozokwo, Rita Edochie and Ebele Okaro, at the end of that moment, I was to enter my car when I was struck with this problem and since then it’s getting worse. Right now I cannot move, I can’t walk on my own. All my half of left is paralyzed, so it’s a problem to me,” he said in the video.

A few weeks later, the actor’s cousin and colleague Tony One Week Muonagor added that the actor is also suffering from diabetes, a kidney disease and has been undergoing dialysis.

On Thursday, Emeka Rollas, the national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) disclosed that he visited the ailing actor alongside Bob Manuel, Chinedu Ikedieze and AGN patron Chief Ejiamatu Nwokeabia at the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

Mr Rollas who shared a photo from the hospital visit via Instagram, added that he has approved money to be sent to the actor from the AGN Trust Fund which may not be enough “due to his records with the Guild HMO & Insurance policy.”

He said: “Few days ago I led few of my colleagues and one of our National Patrons High Chief Ejiamatu Nwokeabia to check on Amechi Muonagor. He is in high spirit as witnessed by the people who accompanied me.

“I have approved some money to be sent to his account from the AGN TRUST FUND which may obviously not be enough due to his records with the Guild HMO & Insurance policy. I, therefore, use this medium to appeal to young Actors to sign up for the AGN HMO and Insurance programmes.

“All fans and well-wishers of Amechi Muonagor should join hands with other philanthropic Nigerians to support him in this dire time of need.”

Amaechi Muonagor hails from Obosi village in Idemili North, Anambra State.

He made his acting debut in the Igbo film Taboo and has been featured in other movies like Peacemaker, Igodo, Ebube, Last Battle, Anambra Women, Evil World, Code of Silence, Aki na Ukwa and Karashika.

The 61-year-old is married with four children.
