A chapter of the Celestial Church of Christ has come under fire for bringing artist Portable and Fuji musician Pasuma to their worship night in Lagos.

The concert flyer, which was posted on Facebook on Wednesday, featured images of Pasuma and Portable alongside additional vocalist May Shua.

Facebook users responded negatively to the poster, criticising the program’s organisers for allowing secular performers to the event.

A Facebook user, Bolanle Bamidele Adewuyi, wrote, “This is disheartening… Is this what you turn the Church of God to? It’s hilarious.”

“Tell me this is a joke! Pasuma and Portable…to come and do what exactly?” Okon Umeren Isong asked.

Another commenter, Festus Olanrewaji Ojo wrote, “This is a shame! Shame and a very big shame.”

“This is totally nonsense,” BU KO LA commented.

Ayo Ife wrote, “The artists are not complete yet Una for kuku add Naira Marley so that the soul winning can be complete!”

Edafe Oghenebrume said, “This is a sacrilege in the Celestial Church of Christ. It is disheartening, pathetic, shameful and disgraceful. I wonder about the spiritual orientation of your Shepherd-In-Charge and the congregation.”

“I hope this is not real, if not, what is happening in the body of Christ, Devil has taken control of that church. God will restore it in Jesus mighty name amen,” Onaolapo Benjamin wrote.

“This is a shame! Shame and a very big shame,” Festus Olanrfewaju wrote.

“I was just laughing when I saw this flier…why will u call a hip-hop and Fuji artist for praise night? Is there no gospel singers again? Well, we are enticed with worldly stuff????…This nonsense can only happen at white garment churches… Because others churches like Baptist, Redeem, CAC can never do this…. Hmmm! The end of the world,” Eri Tunmise wrote.
