Pretty Okafor re-elected for another four-year tenure as PMAN president

Pretty Okafor, a musician, has been re-elected as the national president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) for another four years.

Mr Okafor, who ran unopposed, was declared the election victor by the electoral committee on Tuesday with a total vote of 50.

The statement was met with cheers from the rest of the association’s members.

Drummer Lola Olamuyiwa was also sworn in as the new governor of PMAN in Lagos State and was issued a certificate of return.

At the inauguration ceremony, Okafor said the new governor was chosen because of her work ethic.

A grateful Lola also took to her Instagram account to announce her new appointment.

“Thank you to God Almighty for a successful swearing-in ceremony today as PMAN Governor Lagos state chapter,” she wrote with photos showing of her certificate.

Pretty Okafor is a fine arts graduate of Yaba College of Technology. He is widely acknowledged as the pioneer of the Afro-hip-hop genre in the late 1980s.

However, he gained even greater popularity as PMAN president. Since assuming office in October 2016, Okafor, renowned for his musical fame with ‘Junior and Pretty,’ has steered the association’s affairs and achieved significant milestones during his tenure.
