Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has discussed how she felt when her husband, Bankole Wellington, aka Banky W, told her he wanted to get into politics.

Recall that on November 11, 2018, Banky W declared his intention to run for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on the Modern Democratic Party platform.

Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress defeated him in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency election on February 23, 2019.

He ran on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform for the same seat in the 2023 elections, but Attah Thaddeus of the Labour Party (LP) prevailed.

Adesua claimed in a recent Hip TV interview that she was initially “worried” and “disturbed” when the singer revealed his intention to get involved in partisan politics.

She, however, said she later decided to support him because “purpose is more important than fear.”

She said, “When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it.

“But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent.”
