Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has marked her 25th birthday by appearing in a wheelchair and speaking openly about a health battle that has stolen her ability to move freely for several months.
In an Instagram video shared on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the mother of two called the day her Silver Jubilee and addressed the silence that had worried fans.
“Hi everyone. It’s my Silver Jubilee. This new phase of my life, I pray to God for total calm. Happy birthday to me,” she said.
She explained that what began as something small grew into a serious problem.
“For several months now, I lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this.”
Things worsened after the Children’s Day carnival she hosted in Asaba earlier this year.
“But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my Children’s Day carnival. It’s been one test after another that I jokingly started calling myself a lab rat.”
The pain, she said, became unbearable.
“The pain became, how can I explain this? The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I find myself walking well, and sometimes I just can’t move.”
She added that she cried and turned to prayer.
“I cried. I looked on to God for His divine healing, as He alone has the final say on my life.”
She wondered how else someone so full of life could be broken than by becoming completely dependent on others for the smallest step.
Daniels said she is speaking now because there have been significant developments in her recovery. She decided to live closer to her medical labs and, more importantly, to her children. She first rented a space, then felt she needed to own it. From the day she made the down payment, she said, almost everything in the house arrived as a gift, including furniture from a woman she described as an embodiment of motherhood, a solar system from a friend she called Bestik, and a television from another special friend.
She also shared a tender memory of seeing her sons.
“That day felt like I had just had them. It felt like I was reliving the exact moment I held them for the first time in life.”
She called the year nothing short of God’s blessings and promised to keep giving Him glory.
The video has drawn prayers and messages of support from colleagues including Uche Elendu, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko and Mercy Atang. No specific diagnosis has been disclosed. Daniels has been largely absent from public view for months after the May carnival, and the birthday message is the first detailed account she has given of what she has been facing.
