Yoruba Nollywood actresses Desola Afod and Bimbo Success have clashed publicly over respect, age, and how colleagues address one another in the industry.
Desola, wife of actor Kunle Afod, first posted a video on Instagram around Friday, October 9, 2026, warning actors and actresses she said were treating her with disrespect. In the clip, she stated she is 44 years old and that age is just a number, but respect is not optional. She said she would disgrace anyone in her age group who simply calls her by her first name, and that she would only extend full respect to actresses aged 50 and above. Her caption on the post read:
“Zero tolerance for disrespect. Cross the line, lose access. No apologies, no second chances.”
She also shared a screenshot and appeared to single out Bimbo Success, after claims circulated that Bimbo was born in 1983 and is around 45 or in the same age range. Desola framed the issue as colleagues taking her for granted despite her position.
Bimbo Success responded later in her own video, rejecting the age claim and warning Desola not to drag her into the matter.
“I have known Actor Kunle Afod who happens to be your husband for long and I have never disrespected him and I extend the same respect to you Desola,” she said.
She went further:
“Desola, watch your steps. I don’t do videos. I overlook some things because everyone knows where they are heading. Don’t push me, because if you do, I will fight back. Desola Afod, if you come for me, I am coming for you.”
On the age assertion, Bimbo challenged the source.
“I was shocked seeing my name on your page claiming I was born in 1983, is the person that commented my mother to be sure of my real age?”
She questioned whether Desola had her birth certificate and told her to stop “all these nonsense narratives.”
“I am warning Desola Afod to stop all these nonsense narratives about me. If you dare come for me, I would surely come for you and you wouldn’t like it at all.”
Bimbo also suggested that some industry people had stayed quiet out of regard for Kunle Afod, and that Desola benefited from the respect shown to her husband.
The exchange has split opinions online, with some backing Desola’s demand for seniority-based respect and others accusing her of overreaching or using her husband’s name.
