Actress and media personality Nancy Isime has ignited fierce debate online after declaring that money is essential for a truly fantastic marriage, insisting that love alone cannot sustain an ideal life amid financial struggles.
Speaking on the Tea With Tay podcast hosted by Taymesan, Nancy challenged the romantic notion that couples can enjoy a wonderful life without financial stability.
“When there’s rent pending and the children’s school fees and there’s no food in the house, what’s fantastic life is that?”
She clarified that she was not dismissing love entirely but stressed that constant financial pressure makes it nearly impossible to describe married life as fantastic.
“I’m not saying you should have all the money in the world,” Nancy explained, adding that her views stem from personal experience rather than privilege.
“It’s not like I come from a privileged background. You do know that, right? So you’re not even talking to somebody who has seen money all her life.”
