Ivy Ifeoma Okoye, wife of Nigerian singer Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), has sparked heated debates after advising single ladies to prioritize building their own wealth over chasing rich men, revealing she was already a millionaire before tying the knot with the superstar.
In a candid TikTok video that has since gone viral, the young entrepreneur and influencer directly addressed long-standing speculations about her marriage to the Psquare star, especially given their notable age difference.
“This is my take on the idea of marrying a rich man and before you come for me, know that I was a millionaire before I met Paul.”
She continued with strong advice for women:
“Marrying a rich man should not be anybody’s primary goal. Why would you even want to have a primary goal of marrying someone because they are rich? At the end of the day, it is their money, not your money.”
Ivy emphasized that while marrying into wealth can open doors, women must first secure their own financial independence.
“Don’t get me wrong, marrying rich is a very good add-on because it can open doors of opportunities for you. But what I will tell you to do as a woman is to get rich.”
The mother of one, who runs a successful hair business, revealed she built her fortune through hard work from her school days, continuing even after graduation. She stressed that wealthy and ambitious men are attracted to equally driven women.
