Nigerian singer Teni has set social media buzzing after posting a dramatic and hilarious video reacting to 2baba’s viral “Help me” message; a post that stirred serious concern across the country amid his ongoing marital crisis with Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.
Shortly after 2baba’s now-deleted message went viral, Teni jumped online to lighten the atmosphere with her signature humor. In a playful rescue-mission video, the singer rallied her industry colleagues as though they were preparing for a military extraction.
With exaggerated urgency, she shouted:
“We need to use speed to pick 2baba! If you have jet, bring it. If you have a boat, bring it. Timaya, we will need your Porsche; Kcee, we will need your Cadillac. 2baba, we are coming to save you from your ‘husband’s’ house…”
The clip immediately sent fans into a frenzy, flooding her comment section with laughter and comic reactions. Celebrities, comedians, musicians, and influencers also joined in, jokingly pledging their “equipment” for the rescue operation.
One user, Enioluwa, wrote, “Comedian forced to be Musician!” Mida added, “I swear I try not to laugh but I really can’t help it.” Glb commented, “Na Nigerian women dey happy pass see their comments everywhere. Era 2baba ti gbé sugar to julọ, fear some Nigerian women.”
Comedian Kamo said, “Teni this is audacious ooo.” @Zinysplace joked, “There is plenty fishes in the river… Baba don go catch electric fish, e don dey shock am.” And @Kayfashion added, “Lately Teni is just enjoying her life with lots of jokes.”
The video has since gone viral, offering rare comic relief at a time when fans have been expressing worry over the legendary singer’s emotional and mental state.
Meanwhile, 2baba later released a video clarifying that he did not make the “Help me” post. Appearing calm but concerned about the impact of the online frenzy, he said:
“This is getting out of hand right now… I’m perfectly okay. This is putting Natasha at risk. It’s not fair on anybody. I need everybody to calm down and cease fire. Friends, family, please cease fire. I didn’t post that post. Please, I’m okay.”
He also assured fans that his marital issues will be resolved privately, urging everyone not to “add petrol to fire.”
Following 2baba’s clarification, Teni doubled down on the humour, releasing another video, where she sang a playful plea with her melodious voice, accompanied by a guitar:
“Don’t let them take our legend from us oo…”
The song, though lighthearted, quickly became another viral moment as fans continued to turn a tense situation into comic gold.
