Singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, also known as Ruger, has announced his departure from Jonzing World, which is owned by Don Jazzy’s brother D’Prince.

Ruger confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday, where he announced the launch of his label, Blown Boy.

“Thank you Jonzing world and dprince for believing in me and taking me this far. Wouldn’t have gotten here without you. It’s sad that I have to leave but God knows best. I am taking a big bet on myself this year. I don’t know it all but I know God will see me through. It is time for @blownboyent,” he wrote.

Ruge, 24, rose to fame with the song ‘Bounce’ after joining the label in 2021 and he released his debut EP, Pandemic in the same year.

D’Prince founded the record label in 2019, through which he signed singer Rema.
