Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has thrown her weight firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying the president has performed strongly and that she is confident he will win again in 2027.
Speaking in an interview shared on Saturday, November 7, 2026, the actress highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the administration’s clearest achievements. She pointed out that students can now access interest-free loans to pay for their education, something she said was unavailable when she was in university.
“When I was in uni, I never had the opportunity of getting a student loan. So, I mean, some people in my age range were not able to go to school because they could not get student loan. But the fact that students can get loan at zero interest… Like they can actually get a student loan to go to school. It’s a big deal. I’ve never heard about it before,” she said.
Badmus described the policy as significant because education remains fundamental.
“For me, that’s huge. Whether we like it or not, nobody can shy away from education. Education is key.”
She also claimed some students are already receiving the loans but still pressuring their parents for money.
“They will get it and they will still try to force money out of their parents.”
Defending the broader record of the administration, she repeated that Tinubu has delivered.
“He has done so well. He has done so well. He has done so well. I don’t even know where to start from. Is it the tax reform? He has done a lot. He has done a lot.”
On the 2027 election, she was direct.
“All things being equal, we know that I know President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win again.”
She dismissed the weight of online opinion, arguing that real politics happens elsewhere.
“Politics is not on social media. It’s at the grassroots level.”
She added that the country needs a president who prioritises the people, regardless of party.
“We want a good president there. Do you understand? So it doesn’t have to do with party. Whoever that is there should have the heart of the people. That’s it.”
Badmus, who is currently Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, has been an open supporter of Tinubu since the 2023 campaign. She has previously faced backlash for her stance and has defended her right to back the president on platforms such as comedian Isbae U’s podcast. NELFUND, established under the Students Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act, provides interest-free loans for tuition and upkeep; recent figures place total disbursements at over N372 billion.
